A high-level and coordinated joint meeting was held at the headquarters of the Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation (AOGC) to enforce Decree No. 5671/793 dated 17/10/1446 AH issued by the Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), and to implement the accompanying decisions of the Cabinet.
The primary objective of this meeting was to prevent the importation of low-quality oil and gas products and to regulate and stabilize market prices of these essential commodities.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation, Kabul Municipality, and the National Standards Authority (ANSA). Their collective presence underscored the government's strong commitment to coordinated action in the petroleum and gas sectors.
Key topics of discussion included the effective management of importation, production, and distribution of oil and liquefied gas products, the control of market pricing, accurate identification and stabilization of production facilities across the region, technical evaluations of existing domestic refineries and the establishment of a robust and systematic monitoring mechanism to ensure quality assurance and prevent the circulation of substandard petroleum products.
Participants emphasized the critical importance of upholding national standards, ensuring the safety and quality of petroleum materials, and enforcing price controls. They unanimously pledged to carry forward these efforts through ongoing coordination and inter-agency collaboration.
This meeting marks a significant milestone in the country's path toward economic stabilization, enhancement of national revenues, and protection of the environment, highlighting the government’s resolve to safeguard both consumer interests and the integrity of national markets.
